Ancestor worship
Within the empire of stone worshipping those who came before is common place. With near permanent records of some events in the past and the prevalence of things which we no longer understand it is believed that the ancestors knew that a dark time would come and that the great cities were there way of protecting their children.
Stories tell of a time when the Dragons walked with men and together they forged an empire which stretched across the world. Many records are kept within the city and people spend their entire lives trying to discover the past and what happened. This is hampered by language barriers with the oldest language being almost impossible to decipher.
It is foretold that one day the Dragons will return and with them the empire will again stretch across the world.
It is belived that after you die you are reincarnated within your family line and thus those who have the greatest ancestors are the greatest themselves.
The exact extent of the worship ranges from literal worship of all ancestors including parents, to a belief that the ancestors knew more and we must try to learn from them.
The great spirit
The Wildlings revere nature and believe that the entire world is connected. Their stories are passed down through word of mouth and they tell of a world constrained by humans led by Dragons. Then the world shook and it ripped the humans from it destroying their empire. The dragons were lost entirely. They know that one day the great spirit may again strike and this time human may not survive either.
The great spirit is not so much a god as a personification of all things natural. Humans try to tame nature and to an extent this works. However no matter how strong something is made nature can destroy it again. Life is chaotic and nature even more so. Humans must come to terms with living in sinc with nature or they will destroy themselves.
The beliefs within the follows of the great spirit are wide. They all know that nature is the only chance for humans to survive. However the way that the follows deal with this ranges from fear of reprise to worship.
The Void
The Unspeakable truth do not follow a religion as such. However their belifes could be described as religious. They believe that the entire world is here around us now. The future and past have little matter, the past will be forgotten and the future will forget you. All that matters is that those who you care about are happy in this life.
The belief of this group is that even if reincarnation does exist as many people belive it does not matter. As we do not have memories of those lives they are irelevent. As such what matters is here and now, to not protect those that you love is evil in its truest sense.
Within what is remembered of the past the Unspeakable past talk of a great loss where everything that their people cared about was lost and they swore it would never happen again. Most people do not know the exact stories as it is not talked about much, however what is known is that “morals” stopped people making the decisions that were needed and everything was almost lost because of it.
The traveller
The people of the road have a strong oral history. Within their stories they were once static living in cities. There was peace and they were happy. Then one day a dragon called the Traveller came to them and told them to leave, to walk the roads and they would be safe. Most people did not listen and they stayed in their cities as they burned in the chaos that came in the fall of the great empire.
The people of the road were saved and they keep the travellers words close to them, they move so that they are never stuck to one place. Objects are simply that, what matters is your friends and if you must move on then so be it.
The beliefs on this vary from people who have limited numbers of days that they will ever stay in one place to people who will stay for years in one home before moving to greener pastures.
The order of Tigit
One of the most powerful religions outside the 5 kingdoms the Tigit belive that monsters are against the natural order of the world. Those who use monsters, or allow them to be used are bringing corruption into the world and must be stopped at any cost.
The Tigit claim that these monsters have been seen to destroy the world by the Goddess and that
