Most people in the kingdoms know a little of the other lands that surround the 5 kingdoms, feel free to know as much or as little of this as you would like. For this game no characters will be from a foreign nation, nor will they have gone their directly, even to trade.
The Jadi
The Jadi are a proud people who live to the north of the 5 kingdoms. They create fine pottery and cloth and are fair traders. However they hold onto old grudges that can span back generations. They are currently at war with the 5 kingdoms trying to reclaim land that they lost in a previous war. Wars tend to last no more than a year or two and once they have taken what they want or have been beaten back then a time of peace will come again for a time. They have a true hatred for the unspeakable truth and in peace time have often asked for members to be handed over for “trial”. It would seem that in their culture if a crime is not punished then it passes along to the children and the unspeakable truth have done some truly awful things to them.
The only good thing is that their honour code means that if they take you alive then they will hold you until after the war and then send you home. A fact that many of the unspeakable truth use to their advantage one way or the other. They also do not harm non combatants which means that trading with them in peace time is safe. Unless you are a member of the unspeakable truth who they kill on site.
They have even gone as far as to offer an alliance with the 4 kingdoms (Not the unspeakable truth) if the Tina were rounded up and sent over for trial. Many have asked why this was not done as the Jadi would offer a lot to the kngdoms.
Their code of honour seems to be linked to their religion, however they do not talk freely about it so not much is know about the specifics.
The Gwrdst (Pronounced Goo-war-drast)
Traders from the south, the Gwrdst are a caste based society. You are born into one of a few different “houses”. Each of these houses follows a different god. The ones that deal with the Empire most are those who follow the sea. When asked why a member of a different house could not become a sailor they respond by saying that it would be disrespectful of the sea.
There has never been any official war with the Gwrdst, however there are occasional pirates and raiders.
They seem to be happy to simply trade with the empire and those who are asked claim to know little of the politics of the land, they know that there are no kingdoms with who they do not do at least some trade with.
The northern Krasho
These cities used to be in an alliance with the Krasho of the south who are now part of the 5 kingdoms. They are not directly hostile with the 5 kingdoms, however there are many many things that both groups of Krasho blame each other for over the years. Including the destruction of ancient writings which they both hold sacred. Talks are currently ongoing and things are looking good, trade is flowing and its possible that they may actually allow the Southern Krasho to visit the writing in the north for the first time in hundreds of years.
At this time they will trade with anyone in the 5 kingdoms, however no Krasho of the south is allowed within their cities. As such they have stopped all members of the kingdoms from entering. This has been the state of things for at least 400 years. However they are not dealing with the monsters as well as the kingdoms are and it would seem that this extra pressure has forced them to re-consider this position.
The Tigit
These are more of a religious order than a nation, although they hold huge amount of power in the nations to the north of the 5 kingdoms. Their core belief is that monsters and magic is bad and must be destroyed on site. They claim that the goddess foretold that monsters would one day come and gave them the knowledge to destroy them.
There must be at least some element of truth to this as they have been seen to deal with at least some monsters well. They gain in power in the north as the monster hunters only protect the 5 kingdoms and so they are the only real weapon against monsters up there.
Their teachings are one of the only religions to be banned within the kingdoms and no preacher of their faith is allowed within the lands. Any religious symbols are also banned.
Many have asked as to why they are banned and it seems that they are conncted to northern political groups who wish dammage to the kingdoms. Whatever it is, most hope that one day they may also be able to come to the kingdoms to help with the monster problems.
